During the final months of the school year, your child will conduct research on a famous historical figure (living or dead) who has positively impacted the world. Students can research famous scientists, inventors, explorers, past presidents, world leaders, famous artists, authors, entrepreneurs, etc.
After conducting research (and completing the timeline & graphic organizer), your child will write a speech that will be presented at our Wax Museum. Both the research and writing will be completed IN CLASS. Your child must be able to recite their speech from memory, in the first person (as though he or she is that person). When reciting their speech, make sure to practice:
As part of our Wax Museum, your child is expected to wear a costume that reflects his or her person. This does not need to be a full costume...it can be as simple as a hat that your child's famous person wore. Please DO NOT feel obligated to go out and buy a costume. Your child can make their own costumes and props; use any available resources you have at home!
