During this time at home, reading is the most important thing your child can be doing, in addition to practicing their addition, subtraction, multiplication & division facts. The following is meant to provide you with some guidance & direction in order to keep your child's brain active. I understand that flexibility is KEY!

National Parks
Something I'm extremely passionate about sharing & teaching to my students is our country's National Parks. In the past few years, I've had the opportunity to visit several National Parks, including Yosemite, Sequoia & Kings Canyon, Pinnacles, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon, Acadia, Joshua Tree, Hawaii Volcanoes, and Haleakala. Exploring our country's National Parks is a great way to make connections to habitats, ecosystems, geology, animal & plant adaptations, endangered & protected species, and the importance of conservation.
You can use this time to research our National Parks. Here are a few websites you can explore:

You can also take a virtual tour of several National Parks through Google Earth and Google Arts & Culture here:
Finally, one of my close childhood friends works in Yosemite National Park. I'm working on setting up a video chat with her in which she'll try to answer any questions that your child may have about working in a National Park! |
